The "promotion" to chief design officer gives Ive time to work on designing the Apple Car, which they're not going to comment on, of course.

The Jony Ive promotion

For a cynical view of this promotion read this:

Apple is keeping Ive's compensation hidden from the UK, not the US.
Eric Jackson calls him a rock star but then fails to make the UK tax connection.
Ive is doing what all other UK rock stars have to do, become tax exiles, because the UK takes such a huge amount in taxes, over 70%.

Ive bought Steve Jobs' jet for "commuting" the 11 hours from London to San Jose.

AAPL near buy range as is NXP

$927.78 was the split adjusted price for AAPL as of the close on Friday.

AAPL needs only to gain another $10.32 at its current level to meet the $1000 pre-split price.

It's only a number, but it would feel really good for the company and investors.

Apple's Jony Ive promoted to Chief Design Officer

Longtime Apple designer Jony Ive has been promoted from SVP of Design to a new position called Chief Design Officer, which will see the star designer relinquish day-to-day oversight of industrial design and user interface operations to take on a wider array of projects.

He'll keep his dual citizenship and house in the US due to Great Britain's tax laws, just like his buddies in U2 and other British rock stars.

Ive's only 48

What Jony Ive's "promotion" to chief design officer really means

The weirdest Apple scoop of the week

Apple is future-positioning the Apple Watch as an iPhone, iPad, Mac and tv peripheral device as well as a standalone product.

For now, it just communicates with and is dependent upon the iPhone.

The US spends all of our money on the military in order to protect places like Dubai, so why do we do it?

To line the pockets of the few, like Exxon, Halliburton, and the Koch brothers, who are buying the next presidential election with our money?

They already own Congress and the Supreme Court.

The only branch left is the Executive.

If they take that, the US is officially an oligarchy, not a democracy.

Some might argue that it already is, but there will be no doubt nor confusion when these wealthy oligarchs take over.

I hope Woz made a lot of money for this propaganda piece, and by the way, Dubai is so clean and shiny, because they use slave or near slave laborers to keep it that way for the Arabs and foreign visitors like Woz.

Woz has become a great disappointment and an embarrassment.

Watch the VICE video for the real Dubai story.
