Michael McCown was shot to death in his Terre Haute ceramics store on April 27, 1992, the fourth victim of the serial killer.
In 1982 & 1983 I managed 2 groups, Will Carey and the NightCrawlers and it's off-shoot, Milo Combo, that included bassist Mick McCown. He was the leader of Milo Combo. Milo was Mick's middle name, Michael Milo McCown.
I spoke to this detective, Michael Crooke, in the Indy Star article at the time of the shooting. He asked me if Mick was into drugs. I said unequivocally no, and detective Crooke said that's what he was hearing from everybody. They ruled out drugs as a motive.
