What goes up

iPad is a product line that, in and of itself, generated just about exactly the same revenue last quarter as all of Google's non-advertising business did for the entire fiscal year. But Apple is the company that is considered lopsided and worrisomely dependent upon a single product.

By far, the only manufacturer increasing sales and making a profit in tablets is Apple.

Sound familiar?

Solving the mysterious failure of Apple's iPad

Apple is allowing iPad's $23 billion business to stand separate from its $155 billion iPhone business and its $25 billion Mac business.

If Apple arbitrarily categorized its iOS sales volumes the way IDC and Gartner historically counted tablets (defining screens larger than 5 inches as "media tablets"), Apple would be reporting steadily higher growth in units, volumes and ASPs for "tablets" while still reporting market leading iPhone sales.

First experience with the iPadPro at the Apple Store

The Pencil or finger latency for writing and drawing was non-existant.

The screen is big. It felt like I was looking at a 15" MacBook Pro monitor, which is going to cause a lot of designers of webpages, iBooks, etc. to go back and replace their current graphics with higher resolution photos and graphics.

This will work great laying flat on the desk or resting in your lap, it's no heavier than the original iPad.

Early education teachers are going to want these.

Publishers will be all over this, especially for magazines, newspapers, books, and games.

Both artists and Lawyers will like the size and lightness, as will architects, engineers, real estate agents, etc

Folding the keyboard up is awkward, as in not good: Look for 3rd party solutions to appear.
