I'm all for this, collecting copyright fees, but is it being applied to all manufacturers and distributors or just Apple?

As far as I can tell, it's just Apple.

What about Samsung, Google, Amazon, htc, MS, etc?

What are they paying, if anything at all?

Apple shouldn't bear the onus of others royalty avoidance, which is what I think is happening here.

Besides stealing the source code for iOS to "create" Android, robots were to be Rubin's other big contribution to Google.

Another 'F' for Alphabet: U.S. Marines reject Google's other android as too loud to use

Google's executives portrayed Rubin's demotion as a "new chapter" for him in a new role at the company within the experimental "Google X" group. By the end of 2013, Google began advertising its moonshot robotics acquisitions, including Boston Dynamics, part of the robotics work Rubin was tinkering with.

Alongside Boston Dynamics, Google has also invested billions in buying up existing consumer hardware businesses, notably Nest—a company attempting to sell expensive thermostats and smoke detectors that are essentially defective by design—as well as Motorola Mobility, a very expensive mistake that only ever lost hundreds of millions of dollars within the company every quarter before it sold it off for scrap to Chinese PC maker Lenovo.

Apple's work on robots has resulted in more efficient production of products it makes that return revenues and profits, rather than just spending the Pentagon's money on experiments until it's all gone.

Yes, Apple's advertising this past couple of years has been mostly bland and passive to nonexistent!

Apple could have capitalized on their new products much better than they did.

I think Phil Schiller took on more than he could chew!

Going totally in-house was a big mistake.

This is why Tim Cook and Apple lock-down and protect iPhone, iPad and Mac's privacy.

Google is even worse than MS, and I suspect both of them have no compunctions what-so-ever about allowing the NSA and other agencies, foreign and domestic, access to your files.

Definition of compunction: a feeling of guilt or moral scruple that follows the doing of something bad.
