New India should welcome old iPhones

Apple's CFO prior to Maestri, Peter Oppenheimer, thought Carl Icahn's buy backs were a terrible idea and would only benefit traders like Icahn, but once they initiated buybacks, a 7-1 split, and returned to paying dividends, the stock came back up.

Has Apple wasted billions on buybacks?

This is a bit more cogent

Apple Stores may stall growth of mall stores selling cheap clothes at 1990's era shops.

Below is a photo of the Apple Store in the Fashion Mall in Indianapolis.

Below that is a photo of Abercrombie and Fitch just down the hall, which has gone out of business.

The old Abercrombie store should be a perfect site for a much needed, larger, and Jony Ive designed Keystone Apple Store, which has always been one of the top performing Apple Stores on a per square foot basis in the US.

This, however, is a really weird bit of logic:

1 Thing Apple needs to do to make iPhone 7 Plus a massive success

We've already seen rumors that Apple is planning to introduce an entirely new storage tier with a 256 gigabyte iPhone 7 Plus model. This seems like a fairly easy way to boost average selling prices. That, coupled with the reports that Apple will introduce two variants of the iPhone 7 Plus, should mean that Apple is setting itself up nicely to sell a rich mix of iPhones in the coming cycle.

I've got your broken narrative

Apple's Broken Narrative

I've got an idea to fix "Apple's Broken Narrative," as the author titled Apple's wacky valuation by Wall Street.

1. Apple could create a holding company and call it Arithmetic Inc.

2. And then designate each Apple product or service as a new company.

Any one of these Apple divisions is more successful than any of Google's non-search companies.

Just the iPhone and Apple Stores alone are bigger than the whole of Google.

So how do they get Wall Street analysts to value them so highly?

Why Apple Is Still a "Buy"

Why Apple's Tim Cook is talking about the Dollar and the Yuan

...At the same time, it's worth remembering that currency exchange rates may be a big problem for Apple, but they are not necessarily a big problem with Apple, which continues to sell high-quality products at premium prices to a growing and unusually loyal user base. What should matter to investors is how management deals with the challenge. The company's response so far has been to raise prices in markets where local currencies are weakening. As a result, Apple will probably sell fewer devices in those markets, but it should come out of the crisis with its profit margins intact.

Apple bought AAPL high at the top of the market last year, like a lot of other big and small investors.
