You could say that Apple's approach in mobile ignores history, specifically the Mac/Windows wars of the 1990s, which Apple clearly lost.

I know this is universally accepted as gospel in the business world, but how does this jibe with the fact that Apple has been the most profitable PC-maker in the world for the last decade? Not counting iPads or iPhones, just Macs, Apple makes more profit than any company producing Windows PCs — and yet we're supposed to accept as fact that Apple "clearly lost" the Windows-vs.-Mac war? Methinks Grobart should have paid more attention to Cook regarding junk businesses.

Social media reactions to the launch of iOS 7 yesterday appears to have been heavily driven by youth, who hated the wait but are loving the product. 

The full scale redesign of iOS 7, led by Apple's chief executive Tim Cook, design guru Jony Ive, its software technology maven Craig Federighi and involving months of intense work by thousands of Apple employees, did not go unnoticed by youth on Instagram (where there were nearly 500,000 images tagged #ios7 yesterday afternoon), on Facebook and Twitter.




Apple's iPhone 5S A7 Chip is a benchmarking beast

Typically when Apple introduces an "s" follow onto its flagship iPhone, minor improvements are made to the "guts" of the phone.  With the iPhone 5s, almost everything was improved inside the phone, except for the LTE and WiFi.  The improvements Apple made with the A7 are truly incredible, and they really went against the grain in their choices.
