Apple's China Mobile deal appears to be finally happening

I like the line: "Be proactive and be able to be firm with carriers/vendors"

The ascendency of the iPad

It's a computer, damn it!

Chart: Apple's first weak back-to-school Mac quarter since 2002

FORTUNE -- An Apple (AAPL) summer tradition -- strong back-to-school sales of the Mac -- finally got broken by the same disruption that has been draining growth out of the entire PC industry: The booming tablet market that Apple created when it launched the iPad in 2010.

These numbers don't include tablets

If they included tablets, Apple would be the largest PC vendor with three iPad models in addition to a full line of "PCs"

Apple is also on a slightly different product release timetable than these other companies, so that's also a factor in the poor timing of this chart.

Apple is about to drop at least three new iPads in addition to a MacPro and MacBook Pro with new chips, etc. before Christmas

PCs: Q3 down 9% says Gartner; 2014 likely down again

With Apple it's a Field of Dreams approach: Build it and they will come

Apple has cathedrals and churches where the Enterprise may seek knowledge of Apple's grand design

They have the Apple consultant's network, but no salesforce approaching the Enterprise

Design quality and customer delight as sustainable advantages

Gruber and the 3 Apple bears

It's more of a "contact us and we'll hook you up" type of "business casual approach" for Apple

In a declining PC market, opportunities for an indifferent Apple

It's tough competing with the iPhone.
