These patent suits have gotten way out of control.
Universities and colleges are now patent trolls.
Furthermore the university's "patent ownership" was coerced when they forced professors to sign employment contracts giving the university their patent ownership rights.
In other words, these contracts are extortion and should be subject to the RICO act.
If the university never produced a product from a filed patent, they should not be allowed to protect a theoretical assumption, no matter how closely it resembles a real product that is already viable in the marketplace.
