Bootlegging Android USB TV dongles and boxes counted as "tablets"

I wondered what was up with this "tablet explosion" in China and Asia.

With the proliferation of these illegal video capture devices, Apple will solve an industry's problem once again via a legal low cost video store and device combination, like they did for the music business, with the iTunes music store and the iPod.

Are Android 'TV sticks' eating into Apple's tablet market share?

...The Android TV Boxes even register as an Android Tablet during the activation process, but these devices are not used
for web surfing, emails or any sort of productivity applications. They are strictly used as media players, and for some free
Android games."

The curious case of IDC, Gartner & Strategy Analytics' PC, phone & tablet data on Apple

Every quarter, the tech world's market research firms release metrics on how many PCs, phones and tablets Apple reported selling and compare these to estimates of what the rest of the world produced, resulting in headlines that minimize the importance of the world's largest and most profitable company. How much leverage does Carl Icahn really have over Apple?

Here's the thing with Blodget's "tablet analyses" below.

It's a "work made for hire," with Samsung doing the hiring.

He picked a time frame before Apple released two major new hardware product upgrades, in this case the iPad Air and iPad mini 2, and reported the "about-to-be-replaced" products' numbers instead, knowing full well that buyers were waiting to purchase the new versions.

Blodget is best known for being a de-listed Wall Street analyst for his insider trading, hence the name of his blog, Business Insider.
