The verdict is in: Samsung owes Apple another $290 million

The original $1.05 billion damage award has been whittled down to about $940 million.

...On Thursday, after a six day trial and a couple days of deliberation, a jury gave Apple (AAPL),$290
million -- about 75% of what it asked for.

...A second patent trial, covering some of the products Samsung has introduced in the two and a half years since Apple filed its original suit -- including the Galaxy S3 (but not the S4) -- is scheduled to begin in March 2014

"These parties have shown no willingness to settle," Mr. Love said. Thursday's ruling is "a speed bump" on the way to an appeals court, he added.
