Samsung spends 4-5 times as much, or more, in advertising as Apple.

More than $4.3 Billion in 2012

That was Apple's money that Apple paid Samsung to manufacture Apple's iPhones.

Samsung has stolen Apple's Intellectual property to create all of their Android clones.

Apple spent $4.75 B just last year for R&D

So Apple creates, and Samsung steals, counterfeits and advertises.

Advertising budgets over the years for a few companies

Google was invited to buy into the Nortel patents purchase, and they passed thinking they would make more money suing Apple and the others after they bought the Motorola patents. That strategy ultimately didn't hold up in patent courts world wide. Andy Rubin led them down that path, and that is why Google never mentions his name anymore. He is dead to the company, other than the fact that Android is named after him (it was his nickname at Apple).

So trying to re-make Apple into a villain at this late date is a sham to cover their own greed and a very bad business decision. They wasted $12.5 B on Motorola. Rockstar, Apple, MS et al only paid $4.5 B for the Nortel patents.

Add to that the fact that Google executives knew Apple was developing the iPhone, because Eric Schmidt was on Apple's board.  Jobs was mentoring Larry Paige and Sergey Brin, the ultimate creepy backstabbers, while he was dying of cancer.

Andy Rubin had stolen the source code for iOS while he was working at Apple and took that to Danger before using it to create Android at Google. Then they jumped into bed with Samsung who blatantly counterfeited the iPhone for them.

Judgement day for Android: Apple, Microsoft file lawsuit against Google, Samsung

First, the dynamite in Rockstar's suit against Google filed yesterday is that it is going after Google's search revenue.

Second, it's cute how even I thought, just two years ago, that Google was pursuing a mobile patents portfolio only for "defensive" purposes.

Apple now sitting on $10B in deferred revenue, more than Samsung or Google earned last quarter
