Apple wins US ITC ban of Samsung iPhone clones with two important rulings

Apple certainly had more luck with the ITC than they did with the DOJ on Friday.

Of the two, the ITC's Samsung ban was far more important.

"The ITC has joined courts around the world in Japan, Korea, Germany, Netherlands and California by standing up for innovation and rejecting Samsung's blatant copying of Apple's products," Kristin Huguet, an Apple spokeswoman, said in an interview. "Protecting real innovation is what the patent system should be about."

Apple's big day in Court

"it's hard not to concur with FOSS Patent's Florian Mueller, who writes: 'I'm as convinced as I could be ... that Apple will be granted a permanent injunction against Samsung over some if not all of the six patents and the trade dress a California jury found infringed almost a year ago.'"

Ten charts: Why Wall Street loves Google and hates Apple

This win sets a precedent, but it's more of a moral victory than the huge financial victory Apple is due.

Samsung owes them Billions for their blatantly infringing phones.
