And yet, Apple has spent over $4 billion dollars on R&D this year

The next turning point for Apple isn't going to be a device
"By the time WWDC arrives, Apple will have gone 230 days without announcing a new product. That's the longest gap in years."

Apple's Fascinating Liquidmetal Patent Surfaces in Europe

"In summary, Apple's European patent filing provided us with a grand overview of what Liquidmetal could bring to the table for future iDevices. It presented us with a list of products where Liquid may apply. It also outlined how Liquidmetal could provide certain future Apple products with added wear and corrosion resistance as well as true water proofing. And lastly, we learned that Apple could design future iDevices with fuel cells and that Liquidmetal could provide a perfect encasement for safely housing the fuel cells while providing an exact opening in the devices to support the need for air and fuel."

I don't think it was an accident.

From the start I thought the iPad was perfect for doctors and hospitals.

See above:

Consumers Will Drive iPhone Ownership Past Android's Peak
"Samsung's Radio City Music Hall launch of its Galaxy S IV smartphone made good headlines, but consumer buying data shows that at the checkout counter, Apple continues to eat Samsung's lunch. Apple's "black hole" ecosystem captures subscribers who never leave, while Android smartphones are losing one out of every six customers to other manufacturers. These trends will drive Apple ownership well past Android ownership by 2015 and will reinforce Apple's dominance in tablets as well."

Apple is going to make it harder for counterfeiters, Intellectual property thieves and copycats to catch up to them.

Without Apple supplying constant innovations and break through products, other major and a multitude of minor tech companies wouldn't exist today.

I can see the wisdom of resetting the project schedule, changing the rules.

Apple is the leader, the courts have been too slow and inept.

Time to change the pace, make the hurdles higher.
