If they really cared about security, they would put everybody in the Federal government on Macs, iPhones and iPads and use whatever Apple uses for Apple's Data Center hardware and software.

However, they don't care about actually being secure: They just want Apple to let them break into Apple's hardware and give the US spy agencies the keys to spy on China, to which I'm sure Apple does not have access.
