Apple still working on next-gen external display with integrated graphics card

In the works or a fait accompli?

Apple doesn't pull inventory of old Macs until they have an imminent ship date for the new ones, then they stock their own stores first (online and physical), before shipping to third parties.

Third parties have to wait for Apple Store sales to slow, before Apple supplies those outlets.

There are a couple of pro-video value-added resellers to studios in Hollywood and New York, etc. that get in as early as possible on the Pro gear.

New Thunderbolt display with integrated GPU still in the works

Skylake vs Kaby Lake (when)?

,,,initial details on Kaby Lake suggest the hardware industry will again integrate Kaby Lake into their devices. Meaning, we can expect new tech shipping with Kaby Lake in late 2016. There are enough feature enhancements already to give both consumers and retailers a headache on whether to shift to the new Kaby Lake processor.

During Apple's conference call in April, Tim Cook noted that "Despite challenges there were a number of encouraging signs during the quarter. Our installed base of over 1 billion active devices continues to grow strongly. We added a huge number of Android switchers and new to Mac customers and we generated very strong growth from services."

More specifically Cook added that "We continue to see a very high level of customer switching to iPhone from Android and other operating systems. In fact, we added more switchers from Android and other platforms in the first half of this year than any other six-month period ever."

New Mac Pro 2016 release date, specs & new features rumors

Rumors had indicated Intel wouldn't ship new processor, Kaby Lake, until after the first of the year.

But both desktops, Mac Pro & macMini, and MB Pros would seem to require Kaby Lake tech, Thunderbolt 3 or better.

Seems like Apple would pressure Intel for pre-Christmas shipping date of new Pro processors, but is Intel too broken to produce them?

Apple discontinues the Thunderbolt Display

Apple doesn't count airport stores as stand-alone stores or even mall stores.

They're more like a campus store, or a store within a store like Best Buy or Foxconn in China, but maybe a little classier.

I don't know of any way to tell how many of these mini stores there are really, but it could easily be in the thousands, and now you know why Apple needs more campus space around the world.
